LINOCUT ART - Block Prints!

Prints - Compiled

PRINTS AVAILABLE: https://linktr.ee/krbuck_art

I dabbled in carving / block printing over the years.  First to make a logo to print onto T-shirts for my now defunct podcast idea, circa 2015.  A few years later... I made a simple climber silhouette... a rock stack (cairn) as a gift for the friend who constructed it... and this year (2026) I got back into it - carving primarily based in photos I've taken.  Mostly 4x6 inch blocks, which fit nicely with 5x7 paper / frames.

Mountains / Desert Rock:

Lone Peak, UT

North Six-Shooter Tower, Indian Creek, UT

Skiing down the NE Face, Pfeifferhorn, UT
South Ridge, Mt Superior, UT

Delicate Arch, Arches NP, UT

...and I started experimenting with multiple colors / layers:

Animals & Insects are wonderful too... in order of oldest to newest. :)

Sharp Tailed Grouse

Ten Lined June Beetle
Rocky Mtn. Bighorn Sheep

Jackdaw

Backyard Mantis

I also carved some flowers...

Cactus Flower

Okra Flower

And lastly... my older cuts - some with watercolor.

Rainbow Climber (City of Rocks, ID)

GreenClimber (City of Rocks, ID)

Cairn

Acts of Creation (Logo)

...logo on a T-shirt
And in case you were wondering and made it this far - the blocks look like this.  Linoleum / rubber - a bit easier to carve than wood - which I may venture into one day.

Here I tried 3 varying / overlapping layers for color

I was big into art in highschool... wanted to be an art major... went the scientist route instead.  Left art behind for many years... until I decided to start doodling again in the 2020 pandemic.  I liked playing around with watercolor markers, experimenting with spreading and diluting the ink into and throughout the paper.  Playing a bit with chaos, trying to find my technique.  I quickly made a few pieces that I liked... enough to hang on a wall, or make prints and use as cards or gifts for friends and family.... maybe even enough to try to sell.  I started my "portfolio" on Instagram ( KRBuck_Art https://www.instagram.com/krbuck_art/ ) - but not everyone's on Instagram - so hopefully this blog can be an alternative place for my portfolio.  P.s. Nearly everything is based on photos I've taken :)

Below is a collection of mostly watercolor pieces, 2019 - 2025.  Lately I've mostly been doing Linocut relief prints (which I'll post separately)... but also more watercolor to come too!
